Owner Operator Opportunities
Plant Peddlers Inc is seeking motivated individuals interested in working with us to service our customers in the best way possible. We have listed some information below to review to determine if you and Plant Peddlers are a good fit.
REQUIREMENTS TO QUALIFY
Individuals must have their own Tractor and 53-foot Trailer
Individual must be at least 25 years of age
Individuals must obtain their own IRP License.
Individual must have a minimum of three year's experience, driving same type of equipment that will be used when leased. This experience must be from current date back to at least three years with no gaps in driving. This is required by our insurance.
A current MVR must be provided to us for review by our insurance agent. They will determine initial eligibility.
No reckless driving convictions, DWI, or DUI, license suspensions,excessive speeding violations, hit and run, leaving the scene of an accident, or failure to report an accident within the last three years.
No failed or refused drug or alcohol test in the last four years.
Must complete an employment application. An incomplete application will not be accepted. Falsifying any information on application will result in immediate disqualification.
Must provide no less than ten years driving work history. Previous employers and references will be checked and must be verifiable.
A stable work history and good references. No more than 3 employers in the last year without good cause.
Due to fuel prices, we think it is beneficial if you are based in the areas we have freight available to decrease deadhead miles,

Tractor and Trailer Registration or Title

Tractor and Trailer Annual Inspection

Copy of Bobtail Liability Policy and Physical Damage (you will purchase Liability and Cargo through our company)

Annual Safety Performance Bonus program

Our company is not geared toward teams but rather individual owner operators.

Our insurance has a no passenger policy that must be signed.

We enforce full compliance with Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations.

TX MN WI LA IN IL OH KY TN GA MS LA AR MO OK KS
We also have freight that runs Northwest and Northeast
Freight to the West coast including CA* OR WA is available but seasonal and not on a regular basis

Must be TRU (Transportation Refrigeration Unit) compliant
Please understand that we have a good customer base with established rates in most cases. Our Account Managers will offer the best load available first. We have a policy of "3 Offers and You Are not the priority" meaning that after you are offered three different loads and all are declined, we may have to move to other loads and drivers.
